Englewood, CO, August 2, 2005—Arrow OEM Computing Solutions, the division of Arrow Electronics, Inc. [NYSE: ARW] that provides design engineering, manufacturing, system integration, supply chain management and post-manufacturing services to industrial OEMs and intellectual property-based companies, announced today it will serve as the exclusive sales channel partner for LynuxWorks™ in North America.
The LynuxWorks partnership will support Arrow's federal business unit. This unit focuses on the growing federal market and provides manufacturing and value-added services to prime and sub-prime contractors primarily in the defense and aerospace sectors.
As a leader in the embedded-software market, LynuxWorks provides Linux®-compatible and POSIX®-conformant hard, real-time operating systems to many aerospace and defense companies.

LynuxWorks is ISO 9001:2000 certified and has established FAA DO-178B Level "A" processes for safety-critical software, which is a requirement for most aviation applications.
"Arrow has seen enormous success in the military/aerospace segment, and our engagements have become more complex as Arrow is being recognized as a full end-to-end solution provider," said Steve Ramsland, vice president and general manager of Arrow OCS. "Because our customers are involved in mission- and life-critical applications, we needed a strong partner such as LynuxWorks that has a proven track record providing real-time operating system solutions."
LynuxWorks' complete operating systems and development tools will be available to Arrow OEMs for RTOS and embedded Linux products including LynxOS®, LynxOS-178 and BlueCat®.
"We're excited to be expanding our customer base with Arrow as our exclusive sales channel partner," said Mark Baker, vice president of sales for LynuxWorks. "We look forward to building new relationships with Arrow customers and meeting their unique business needs."
